A holistic view of learning

The learner, their strengths and their context.

Learning is shaped by skills, emotions, experiences, family, school and environment. We begin with each learner’s strengths and interests, choose structured, evidence-informed strategies for their goals, and review progress as a team. We do not expect a learner to fit one method; we look for what helps them learn and grow in their own way.

Clear answers for families

How AWÁ supports children’s learning

See how AWÁ considers each learner’s strengths, needs and context to build support with families and schools.

How can AWÁ support my child’s learning?

AWÁ seeks to understand how each learner learns, recognize their strengths and identify areas where they may need support. Based on this, AWÁ designs individualized support that may address reading and writing, executive functions, self-regulation and social skills, in collaboration with the family and, when appropriate, the school.

How can AWÁ help with attention, organization and schoolwork?

Support focuses on practical strategies for planning, organizing materials, starting tasks, managing time and following through on schoolwork. Strategies are adapted to each learner’s needs and pace to foster independence in everyday life.

What support does AWÁ offer students with autism or on the autism spectrum?

AWÁ offers individualized support that recognizes each learner’s strengths, needs and ways of learning. Goals may include self-regulation, social skills, independence and learning strategies tailored to each profile, in collaboration with the family and, when appropriate, the school.

What support does AWÁ offer for reading, writing and dyslexia?

AWÁ provides structured, evidence-based interventions to strengthen reading and writing skills. Support is tailored to each learner’s specific needs, with clear goals, guided practice and progress monitoring. When appropriate, AWÁ also coordinates with the family and school to help strategies carry over.

How are each learner’s support needs identified?

The process begins by exploring the learner’s strengths, needs and learning experiences. Depending on the situation, it may include interviews, observation, a review of relevant background information and psychopedagogical assessment tools. The findings guide goals and next steps, which are shared with the family and, when appropriate, the school.

Does AWÁ work collaboratively with families and schools?

Yes. The family is an essential part of the process. When appropriate and with authorization, AWÁ also collaborates with the school and other professionals involved to support consistent strategies across the learner’s environments and make them easier to use in everyday life.
